Parota Wood Tables

Parota’s striking grain creates exceptional wood tables that demand to be the cornerstone of a room design. PAROTAS modernizes their wooden table designs using sleek lines, custom wood cuts and contemporary design concepts.

The large size of the parota tree enables contractors and designers to custom-order wooden tables up to several meters long, including live edge wood for creating elegant, one-of-a-kind solid wood tables. Contact PAROTAS to enquire about custom designs or our wooden table collections.

Wooden Table Design

Wood tablesPAROTAS’ wooden tables are designed to insert a simple masterpiece into your design. Alongside our modern wood table collections, we can custom-make a range of contemporary bases to support natural wood table tops, giving designers more variety to conceptualise modern wood table designs. PAROTAS works with materials such as iron, chrome, bronze and golden finishes, as well as unique techniques such as illuminance and carbonized wood. Functional features, such as hidden storage, can be added to meet clients’ specifications.

PAROTAS’ wood table collections are finished with a blend of natural oils, which highlight parota’s natural colouring and moderate lustre, as well as provide a safer and less-toxic product for the environment. Maintenance is a matter of reapplying oil, enabling our wood tables to retain functionality without compromising design.

Natural Solid Wood Tables

Long wooden tables created from sleek, horizontal cuts expose the smooth, grainy lines that are iconic to parota wood. As a relatively fast-growing tree, parota wood is typically lighter, almost half the dried weight of oak, making it ideal for large-size solid wood tables.

Solid wood tables using natural cuts allow more room to expose parota’s two-tone colouring, comprising the golden-brown heartwood that is distinctly demarcated from the creamy sapwood. If available, natural cuts measuring up to 10–15 feet (3–5m) can be custom ordered.

Round Wooden Tables

Cross-sectional cuts of parota create round wooden tables that rely on the beauty of parota’s circular wood grain. Parota’s generally large width means contractors and designers can produce both small and large round wooden tables using single cuts from 1.5–6.5 feet (0.5–2m) in diameter, creating stunning one-of-a-kind round wooden tables with complete live edges.

Contractors and home designers can visualise an interesting variety of wooden table and chair designs, incorporating benches, stools and trunk cuts. Wooden benches and stools can be made-to-order to match your wooden table.

Glass & Wood tables

A glass dining table creates a lens to see the artistic sculptures made from sleek parota bases or sections of roots. A number of modern bases can be put on show under your glass dining table, including bases made from parota’s intricate root systems which can be custom-ordered.

Wood Tables, Sustainably Sourced

All of PAROTAS’ wooden tables are sourced using certified wood from regions in Mexico protected by governmental co-operations that control environmental practices.

The exotic parota wood comes from the guanacaste tree, which grows abundantly in tropical and humid climates of Mexico and Central America, rapidly reaching heights of 65–100 feet (20–30m) and widths of 3–6.5 feet (1–2m). Parota’s fast-growing properties make it a more sustainable harvested material than slow-growing wood, such as oak and cedar, and is not listed as a threatened species.
